 Position Type: Part Time - 25 hours 

 

 Reports To: Club President, DOC Liaison, DOC committee, and Board of Directors

Job Overview:

As the Director of Coaching for McMinnville Soccer Club, you will be responsible for overseeing the club's coaching program, including the development and implementation of coaching curriculum, mentorship of coaching staff, and enhancement of player development programs. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a positive, competitive, and educational environment for all players and coaches.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching Program Development: Design, implement, and regularly update a comprehensive coaching education program that aligns with the club’s philosophy and objectives. Ensure programs are in line with US Soccer Associations Mission, Philosophy, and Culture. This includes meeting and training with MHS Varsity Soccer Staff.

  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and mentor coaching staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality coaching. Host at least 5 coaches team building meetings and 3 coaches training sessions each year.

  • Professional Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development among the coaching staff through workshops, certifications, and seminars. Evaluate coaches at least once per year

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all coaching practices meet local, state, and national soccer association standards and compliance requirements. Ensure all coaches, players, and parents maintain standards set by MSC bylaws, policies, and procedures. Enforce policies and procedures in accordance with MSC Bylaws and Policies.

  • Player Development: Oversee player development programs, including player assessments, team placements, and individual development plans. Ensure coaches submit assessments by the end of each calendar year. 

  • Community Engagement: Represent the club in the community and at soccer associations, fostering relationships that benefit the club and its members. Maintain a positive connection with club members. 

  • Equipment Management: Oversee equipment distribution and purchases. Work with the Treasurer and DOC committee to maintain and meet budget requirements. Maintain and update MSC equipment inventory.

  • OYSA and Tournament Planning: Coordinate and oversee club participation in MSC Tryouts, leagues, tournaments, and other competitive opportunities. Work with MSC YDD to organize at least one local tournament every year.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field preferred.

  • Relevant coaching certifications, ideally D License or greater (e.g., USSF, UEFA, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in coaching and sports program management.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, players, and community members.

  • Knowledge of current coaching methodologies, player development models, and soccer trends.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for games, tournaments, and scouting.
